Sobre la banda por MusicDownload:

Intimately lo-fi with a touch of the dramatic, the Cairo Gang delivers acoustic lullabies for whimsical romantics and the unfavorably doomed. This is the perfect soft rock to soothe your rock 'n' roll hang-overs.

The Cairo Gang are 6am soothe-core for the puzzled, punch drunks of the world. Picking up smack dab where Elliot Smith left off with true lemon drop tunes for the down trodden. Groovy and ghostly imprints that leave one feeling completely defeated yet wide-eyed enough to paint a few self-portraits without a single cringe. RocknRoll for when you want to snuggle up with the dictionary, discovering new terms to use in explaining why you'd abruptly shaved off your Mohawk, bought some old suits and grew an intense obsession with J.D. Salinger.

The Cairo Gang's self-titled debut full length, set for release this summer, features a track by track blueprint, illustrating each and every side of the emotional spectrum. A musical declaration uniting the romanticists with the doomsayers for a round of high fives and hand shakes. The ballad "Mother Earth" is acoustically organic, delivering the listener an early Neil Young feel with bewitching flutes and bongos. The hardboiled, lo-fi rock of "So it Goes" provides a balanced state with just the right amount of tinny treble boost and sleepytime vocals to keep its cool. "Bones in the Ground" flutters like a funnel cloud with an agenda, sweetening every pot in its path. As a whole, the album coasts above the clouds, swooping down to earth for the occasional cameo appearance.

Over the course of recent years, The Cairo Gang has been a lingering passion for Emmett Kelly, a stimulated singer/songwriter with an impressive list of musicians in his rolodex. Performing with a back up band or solo, Kelly always brings a freshened thrill to the world of quiet rock music. Originating in Los Angeles, he bounced around the globe for quite some time, eventually landing in Chicago, a wind-ridden city suitable for The Cairo Gang's drafty texture. After mastering countless instruments, Kelly decided to put his skills to work and record some tunes that have been afloat in his headspace. And thank the heavens he did, because this album perfectly tweaks the butterflies in all of our stomachs. The Cairo Gang …deep, soft rock for tobacco tinged hearts.
