Banda australiana que debutó en el 2004 con A smile como Dappled Cities Fly. El pasado año en Noviembre editaron su segundo trabajo en Australia, que ha salido ahora en Estados Unidos a través de Dangerbird Records.
Solo he escuchado su tema Fire,Fire,Fire, así que, no puedo decir que si se parecen a The Shins mezclado con Barrio Sésamo y demás :)

Granddance, though being Dappled's legitimate sophomore LP, was actually the debut album for the band to be released outside of Australia. It was recorded over two sessions through out 2006 - 2 weeks in March and 6 more weeks from July - in three studios in and around Hollywood, LA, namely Sunset Sound, Sonora Recorders and New Monkey Studio. The album was produced by Peter Walker and Jim Fairchild (of Granddaddy), and mixed by Jacquire King in Nashville. The recording sessions were the result of DCF's international signing with Dangerbird Records, an independent Hollywood based label, following the band's showcase at the 2006 South by Southwest Conference in Austin, Texas.

Dappled Cities Fly signed to Dangerbird for the territory of USA, and subsequently upon their return they were signed to Speak 'n Spell records for the territory of Australia. Being the band's homeland, Granddance was released in Australia before anywhere else, and as a limited edition double CD pack which included 3 extra tracks and live footage.

Described variably as a "cross between Pavement, The Flaming Lips, and an episode of Sesame Street" as well as "some kind of weird s**t that just rocks." "Granddance" was produced by Jim Fairchild (Grandaddy), Peter Walker, and Jacquire King (Modest Mouse, Tom Waits, Kings Of Leon). "Fun exuberant indie-pop that's weird enough to be interesting and familiar enough to be indelibly catchy" - Rolling Stone.
