The duo consists of brothers Philip and Henrik Ekström who you might recognise from the band The Mary Onettes. Inspired by their grandmothers memoires and Swedish/Finnish poet Claes Andersson singer Philip wrote fifteen songs in a two months-creative outburst in the fall of 2010. The result is unique mix of Swedish pop melodies and African rhythms - undoubtedly one of the most unique, captivating and catchiest pop records of the year!
The "The Night Before The Funeral" is Philip of The Mary Onettes' debut as a director. The video connects very strongly to him and bandmate / brother Henrik who plays the main character in the video.
All the places you see in the video have strong ties to his and his brother Henrik's childhood. The forest that you see is the forest where Philip hung out with the association "Friluftsfrämjandet" every Saturday for eight years. The football pitch is located just around the corner from the house where they grew up in. The beach was where they used to go in the summer when they were kids. The apartment where Henrik picks up a guitar is their granmothers old apartment.

Fluttery Records describes A Journey Down The Well’s music as to be the point where the soul of minimal classical music meet modern forms such as ambient. They are creating extraordinary works, since the band was formed by two Swedish and one Turkish musician (Martin Bjelfvenstam, Anna Erneman and Taner Torun) in 2006. Although the band thinks none of the genres really fit, their music is commonly tagged as post-rock, ambient, experimental and avant-garde. Due to their orchestrated arrangements with cello, violin, piano and choir they are familiar with minimal and contemporary classical music.
The band was formed on a summer night in 2006 as a result of an accidental meeting in a Mediterranean town. Soon after, they started recording in an empty flat. Their debut The Funeral Album was released in 2007. Although it was firstly released as a digital self-release by the band members (without a record label and physical CDs), the band made an international fan base and the album gained a big attention. Also, the album was critically acclaimed and shown as one of the most important releases of 2007 by many websites. While they were recording, they didn’t know they were recording their debut. “Working together was fine; than we decided we were a music band.” Anna says. They named their band as A Journey Down The Well getting inspiration from the well, Alice In Wonderland falls into. Heavy use of drones with the strings and piano and infinite sadness were the main characteristics of The Funeral Album.
After signing to Fluttery Records, the band spent 2008 summer for recording their new pieces. Strandvägen Choir supported the band in recording process of their second album; Sorry Monsters, I Have To Grow. (Release Date : 07 Jan 2009 Fluttery Records)
Sorry Monsters, I Have To Grow is the album, the band goes one step further. They fallowed a composition driven approach, rather than improvisation unlike their first album. It is an anti-war album which is also about growing and fighting against oppressions.

A Journey Down The Well is known for their unique style with classical music instruments driven to create a special sound which flirts with rock, ambient and experimentalism.
“Sorry Monsters, I Have To Grow” is their second station on their journey; the strings create a smoky and haunting downtempo ambience with the piano; lyrical songs wink poetry.
Also, band is backed by the members of Strandvägen Choir in the recording process. “Working with a choir has made a powerful impact, I can’t imagine ‘Sugarman’ and ‘Sorry Monster, I Have To Grow’ without their parts” says the cellist Martin Bjelfvenstam.
According to the band members the album is about brutal wars, oppressions for personality and trying grow as a human being leaving all the unnecessary fears behind. “Despite the bombs, despite the guns, despite people building prisons for themselves and others.” Taner Torun adds.
According to Anna Erneman, their contemporary classical influences get one step ahead in this album. “We are inspired by many elements. Chilly sound of post-punk, eye openers like A Silver Mt. Zion and Godspeed You Black Emperor; Brian Eno and many others... But, in this album our derivations from contemporary classical composers like Arvo Pärt, Richard Einhorn and Henryk Gorecki are dominant.”

HOTEL PERSONA is an international London based trio made up of Stefan Olsdal (Swedish), David Amen (Spanish)and Javier Solo (Spanish). The band was formed in 2005 while in charge of the musical entertainment in their friends house parties in London.This developed into the writing of a collection of songs that turned into “In The Clouds (2008)” their debut album.What started as a studio project has now turned into a live act, as well as DJ’ing and remixing for other artists.
