El nuevo trabajo de la banda toledana, tercero de su carrera musical, se llamará Tiny Telephone. El nombre del disco según LaHiguera se debe al nombre del estudio en San Francisco donde fue grabado. En Abril veremos el resultado. Ya hay ganas después de verles en el Proacive, donde estuvieron inmensos. Ya apetece escuchar el nuevo disco en CD y en directo todavia más. A lo mejor se marcaron alguna nueva en el concierto del festival zamorano, creo que si,pero no estoy segura, porque los de atrás no paraban de pedir On my mind. Y eso es lo que recuerdo. Después la mayor parte del público se fue. Y los que nos quedamos, pasamos bastante frio. Pero las 2 bandas que cerraron el festival también merecieron la pena. De hecho, repeti concierto de Catpeople después en el Potemkin.

El 8 de febrero, Cuatro comenzará a emitir la nueva temporada de Anatomia de Grey. En la cual podremos escuchar canciones que ya han sido aqui mencionadas, de artistas como The postmarks, Mat Kearney,Peter Björn and John,Camera obscura...Y Vega4, a los cuales descubri en MySpace. Y sobre los que he escrito varias veces. Y pudimos escuchar cuatro canciones en el blog de su segundo trabajo. Life is beautiful, como ya dije, sonará en el segundo capítulo de la nueva temporada. Sin duda alguna,ha sido un gran empujón para la banda. Si Chasing cars de Snow Patrol se convirtió en la canción más importante de la 2ª temporada, con video especialmente creado con mezcla de imágenes de la serie y de la primera versión del videoclip. Puede que Life is beautiful de Vega4, que recuerda bastante al estilo de Snow Patrol, se convierta en la canción de este nueva temporada. Fatima meets Kuriaki es un nuevo dúo musical creado por Fátima Eiras y Ander Kuriaki. Tanto Fátima como Ander tienen otros proyectos musicales (www.myspace.com/todoclima y www.myspace.com/onesecondfame), sin embargo, cuando se conocieron en un estudio de grabación, empezaron a hablar de la posibilidad de grabar algo juntos que no tuviera nada que ver con sus otros proyectos. La idea que los dos tenían era hacer música "como de película" y así es como se ha gestado su primer E.P “Hi, stranger”, con cinco canciones que envuelven y cautivan. La base electrónica está a cargo de Kuriaki, que toca varios instrumentos, algunos vintage, y utiliza diversas técnicas de producción. Kuriaki compone reinterpretando sus propias influencias musicales que van desde Air, Massive Attack, Portishead, el pop frances, las bandas sonoras de Ennio Morricone, Michel Legrand, y un largo etcetera. Fátima, a partir de estas bases, compone la melodía de la voz y las letras creando una atmósfera ensoñadora llena de sensualidad.

Después de un tiempo, Volován vuelven con Monitor. Un segundo trabajo en el cual ya no están dos de los miembros originales, que hicieran el gran primer CD, con la gran Ella es azul. No lo he escuchado pero parece que ese aire indie del debut ya no aparece tanto.

¿Qué es una crepa? Sophie Ellis Bextor (10 de Abril de 1979) se dió a conocer gracias a su éxito "Murder on the dancefloor" (video). (Recuerdo cuando estuvo en MTV Select, creo que aún estaban Miguel y Claudia). Parece que después de su maternidad, que la tuvo retirada del mundillo musical una temporada, este año por fin volverá con su tercer trabajo. El primer sencillo es "Catch you". Otras canciones que se han podido escuchar son "Me and my imagination", "If you go" y "New York City Lights". El album Trip The Light Fantastic cuenta con Fred Schneider del grupo "The B-52s", con el DJ Francés Dimitri from Paris y con la cantante Cathy Dennis, famosa por crear el Mega-Hit del 2001 de Kylie Minogue "Can't Get You Out Of My Head".

I was born in lebanon and rasied in Paris and London, hopping from country to country like a footloose hippy with my four brothers and sisters.
Coming from different background to most I found no place at school and delved into music from an early age. I started writing songs as a kid, not because of grand ambitions but because it was an easy way to tell a story, a joke and often the truth. Tell the truth in a song and people are less pissed off than if you were to say it to their face.
I sent out my stories to anyone and everyone, not surprisingly I often got no reply. The further I got into music the more attention I was getting for my own song writing, I made a choice last year and decided to go for it.
'Life In Cartoon Motion' is my first record. It has a coming of age theme, and deals with my tranition from childhood to now. What's my sound? I guess it's in the writing. I apologuise in advance to the people whos stories and characters I have borrowed from. Remember, It's only a caricature.

Sebastian Krueger of Inlets just needs a little room. Growing up in a large prairie-style home in Madison, Wisconsin, he became possessed with a certain notion of infinite space. His method is compact and intimate - a solitary Shure microphone details the puff of a clarinet as closely as reverberations in the creases of his pillow - but these bedroom recordings sprawl with occluded heartfelt colors and shimmer with the accidents of expansion. Here, whole conversations bloom and senesce in quick moments between notes; single hushed voices persist and then suddenly are buttressed by myriad more. This is music that riots and rushes in the world of multi-track recording software, but which still retains a terse narrative course and an ear to beautiful detail.
Apart from Inlets, Sebastian enjoys the privilege of playing in My Brightest Diamond; supporting Shara Worden with guitars, clarinets, bells and falsetto. He contributes to her forthcoming record A Thousand Shark's Teeth.

Kaiser Chiefs y The Chemical Brothers se unen a !!! en el cartel de la segunda edición del festival que organiza Sinnamon.
TEXTO: Guillermo de la Madrid 12/01/2007 Sinnamon, organizadora del Summercase, ha anunciado este viernes las primeras incoroporaciones al cartel de la segunda edición del festival. Además de la presencia ya confirmada de !!!, se unen al line-up del Summercase 2007 Kaiser Chiefs (que presentarán "Yours Truly, Angry Mob") y The Chemical Brothers. Estos últimos repiten presencia en el festival, aunque en esta ocasión el dúo actuará en directo en vez de ofrecer su dj set, como hiciese en la edición de 2006.
Los primeros abonos del Summercase, que se celebrará en Madrid y Barcelona el 13 y 14 de julio próximos, están a la venta a un precio de 75€ (más gastos de distribución) hasta el próximo lunes 15 de enero.

Este año será la segunda edición de la versión veraniega del Wintercase que organiza Sinnamon. Y ya sin saber ni un grupo, han decidido comenzar a vender los abonos por 75€(+gastos de envio), sólo hasta el 15 de Enero. Luego subirá hasta 85€.
Noticia recogida en Supernovapop: Este lunes 8 de enero se han puesto a la venta a través de la red Ticktackticket los primeros abonos para el Summercase 2007. Los abonos para los dos días tienen un precio inicial (y sólo hasta el 15 de enero) de 75€ (más gastos de distribución). A partir de entonces y hasta el 15 de abril, el precio será de 85€.
Como ya ocurriese en 2006, esta segunda edición del festival que organiza Sinnamon se celebrará de manera simultánea en el Fórum de Barcelona y enBoadilla del Monte (Madrid) el próximo mes de julio, concretamente los días 13 y 14 del mismo.

Ayer escuché Hundredaire, gracias a 5acts.Y es bailable, algo petarda y recuerda algo a Scissors Sisters con los que han estado de gira. Detrás de todo esto está Will Schwartz, lider de la formación Imperial Teen. La verdad es que es para verlos :P Dispuestos a hacerte bailar y por ahi dicen que una fusión Justin Timberlake+Usher a lo indie. Amy Winehouse's second album, Back to Black, is one of the finest soul albums, British or otherwise, to come out for years. Frank, her first album, was a sparse and stripped-down affair; Back to Black, meanwhile, is neither of these things. This time around, she's taken her inspiration from some of the classic 1960's girl groups like the Supremes and the Shangri-Las, a sound particularly suited to her textured vocal delivery, while adding a contemporary songwriting sensibility. Este mensaje es simplemente un pensamiento en alto, no tengo nadie con el que marujear hoy, asi que lo hago aqui :) Por otro lado esto no lo lee ni el tato, asi que, este post será sesión diván. Y tu Gemita que estás en las Holandas pues no sabrás apenas quien es. Al grano que siempre me voy por las ramas.
Me inicié en MySpace porque el batería de unos de mis grupos favoritos, Matchbox Twenty, habia abierto ahi una página. Paul Doucette daba a conocer su propio material en esta plataforma que en estos años ha crecido y crecido y crecido. Para mi es como un centro comercial donde lo tienes todos, en mi caso sobre música. Además para mucha gente que no sabe o no tiene medios para abrir una página web, supone una forma fácil de dar a conocer su material musical. En mi caso yo siempre busco ya en MySpace, y la web es la secundaria. Porque para la música en mi caso, lo primero es ESCUCHAR. Luego si gusta y tal pues lees quienes son, estilo, influencias, etc. Aunque otras veces es porque alguien te ha dicho tal y cual. Pero siempre la primera via es la más importante. Esa es la razón por la cual, me peleo con el potato de pc para hacer players, para que nada más abrir el blog se escuche y luego si quieres lees.
Y ahora vamos a la parte que podemos llamar de marujeo, que nos llevará a lo del pañuelo. Mucha gente te añade, en mi caso lo que me interesa son bandas, conocer nuevos sonidos me interesa. De gente que empieza y de gente que son ya conocidos y grandes pero no sabía de ellos. En algunos casos o mayormente será para fardar de número de fans en su página de MySpace. Pero poder escuchar directamente canciones e incluso bajártelas aunque sea en "calidad" de 96kb pues está bastante bien. Me vuelvo a perder. Bueno pues entre muchas adds, una vez me llegó el add de una banda llamada Nash. Yo ya tenia a una banda española-americana llamada The Nash. Y cuando vi a Nash pensaba que eran rusos. Ni idea de su estilo. Dejando mi confusión con su imagen, entre sus "amigos" estaba Fran de OT. Si señores hasta los de OT están ahi. Y éste entre sus amigos tenia a Edurne. (Momento marujeo) Y no sé cómo cotilleé a Chenoa, que tenia a Bisbal de amigo. Pero no a Bisbal artista, sino a Bisbal de andar por la calle. Como que te imaginas pues se llevan ,no se llevan, bla bla. Si lo que hace el aburrimiento a veces :)
Y ya llegamos a la razón de este blog, mi última request de MySpace es una chica llamada Laura, que canta Acappella y tal. Y entre sus amigos está.... Risto. Conocido por ser jurado de la última edición de OT. Personalmente al principio creo que se pasaba. Creo que o me acostumbré a verle o se volvió algo más suave. Exceptuando con Ismael o como se llame que ...uff. Y Leo y tal. Y simplemente era eso, que hasta él está ahi con una dirección tal como http://www.myspace.com/yotambiensoydios. Donde en su About me,no se queda corto, cuenta y cuenta. Y dice que muy a su pesar se ha hecho famoso por lo que se ha hecho. Y es que, todo el mundo esperaba a escuchar su dictamen.
Seguramente que también estén, no sé... Buenafuente quizá o Abellán o la peña de Arús. En mi caso como sólo me muevo por lo musical, pues mirad a que me ha llevado,jeje. Una vez buscando sobre no sé que, o en una request de salvar animales me llevó a Julia Roberts. Podría decir y decir. Pero sólo diré que la plataforma mencionada se ha convertido en una gran comunidad.
Echando un ojo al perfil de Risto, que me interesa desde el punto de vista de Marketing y Publicidad. Me hace gracia que diga en el apartado de Televisión que la domina. Y últimamente llegué a una conclusión con la que estoy de acuerdo con él, los Heroes no existen.

Ya hablamos de ellos, su canción Mar el poder del mar nos enamoró desde el primer momento. Mientras esperamos a ver un nuevo video (dijeron que estaban en ello en el programa de Disco Grande), vamos a poner aqui el video de Mar el poder del mar, y una de las canciones con la que partipaban en Yo soy la Juani, la última película de Bigas Lunas.

Vamos con otra banda también descubierta gracias a un email informativo. Ni idea de quien eran hasta hoy.Y al igual que The hours me han gustado bastante. También al igual que The hours, la información de la banda no es mucha. De The hours no conozco el tracklist de su disco, y de estos no me queda claro si es un disco o un EP o ambas cosas lo que editarán este mes de Enero.Antes habian editado en el 2004 su primer trabajo. Y el resto de material no me queda claro. A ver si después de la gira por UK y las navidades se ponen con su web, y nos dejan claro cual es el material editado hasta la fecha. Añadir que estuvieron de gira con los Killers, creo que en el 2005. El que mejor puede aclarar las cosas es el que hace el blog indiedontdance al que le encantan. (todos los post sobre ellos)

Having just completed their first flying visit to the UK where they played at a number of London venues including the legendry Metro, Borderline and Bush Hall,The Envy Corps (pronounced Core) are now back in their home state of Iowa, USA putting the finishing touches to their EP, due out in the UK in February. All very exciting that back in 2001 where it all started, Luke, David, Scott and Brandon were recording piano in the servants quarters of a rural farmstead and sneaking into the loca church to track drums!

Fans get new track, two days early The Arcade Fire uploaded the wrong song to iTunes on Tuesday (December 26).
The track 'Intervention' was supposed to be uploaded as a charity single today (December 28) but instead fans got a taste of a new track 'Black Wave/ Bad Vibrations' two days earlier than planned.
As member Win Butler posted on his online journal
"The song that people have downloaded from the US side of iTunes is called 'Black Wave/ Bad Vibrations', and it is the next track on the record after 'Intervention'.
"I guess it is sort of charming that we can send the wrong song to the whole world with a click of a mouse...oh well."
Butler also revealed the band planned to leak tracks from their forthcoming 'Neon Bible' under different names.
He said: "We decided to try and get a couple of songs out to people before the record leaks (which is inevitable as the Christmas cold I can feel coming), but keep in mind that the record is very much meant to be heard as a whole.
"That is why we leaked over 100 songs on Myspace as fake band names over the last year and then made a compilation of the 11 most popular songs and called it 'Neon Bible'! You will all hear the whole record in due time, and I am sure it will all make sense."

Laura Imbruglia has a new band and a self-titled debut album. The album will surprise those not familiar with her music and may confound those who have seen her play solo across the country.
Her music is a mix of classic pop sensibility and punk attitude inspired by the discontent that comes with being a glass-half-empty kind of person. Her quirky pop style has been compared to Jonathan Richman and Liz Phair, while she, herself, would like to think her favourite artists like Queen and The Carpenters have subconsciously seeped into the mix.
And it's this unusual blend of styles that makes her debut album an underground pop gem. Check out songs like "Looking For A Rabbit" and "My Opus". They're the perfect illustration of both her disarming originality as a songwriter and the punchy and infectious power of her band - featuring heavy-hitting drummer Nick Kennedy (Big Heavy Stuff, The Cops) and unique bass player, Stiff.

Or the one who supported The Eels and Beth Orton on their respective OZ tours throughout 2003 and 2004. She's maturing and changing as a songwriter and the band is allowing her to realize her musical ambitions. But she's still singing from her unique perspective & from the heart; as on her 2003 self-released EP, It Makes A Crunchy Noise . Only now she's a few years older, and hopefully a little wiser!
This brings us back to where we started. Since recording the album she's been on the road playing a succession of dates including an appearance at the Great Escape festival, national tours supporting Josh Pyke, Bob Evans & The Fiery Furnaces and a special performance at the premiere of The Devil and Daniel Johnston documentary at Sydney's Chauvel cinema. She hopes to see you on her upcoming tour!
