MAKO is the neoteric effort of former MCA recording artists Declan O'Shea and Christian Montagne, following the dissolution of CycleFly, an extremely popular and successful alternative rock band . Signed in a London venue with Radioactive, a subsidiary of MCA Universal Records,Declan and Christian honed their craft during their tours with 'Tool' in Ireland, and 'Linkin Park' in Europe, 'Bush' and 'Live' in the U.S. , Canada and England.
Performing to sold-out venues in America, Canada and Europe,Cyclefly received extremely favourable reviews from the Woodstock, Leeds, and Reading festivals of 1999. After Radioactive dissolved, MCA picked up their contract ,
producing a single and a video entitled, "No Stress " . The single sold a healthy 85,000 in England with impressive exposure on MTV2 and VH1. Additionally, the band was rated on the 'Best New Artist' lists of NME, Kerrang! and Rock Sound

LIVING ON AIR, MAKO's 14-track debut album ,' OUT OCTOBER 2007 'on CD and DOWNLOAD. Larry Fricke of Germany and mix-box.de mixed the polished result of "Living On Air". Sebastian Gastaldi of EMB Productions, Panoramix Studios, co-produced the CD with MAKO, and offered additional accompaniment from Sebastian's studio in Antibes.

Jonturk fet. Cyclefly
Hi everyone, Cyclefly just finished a collaboration with Turkish rapper
Jonturk, the song is called "refuse resist say no" the song includes rappers from different nationalities rapping in there own language say there bit on the state of our fair planet from then to now focusing on our greed and ignorance destruction and final demise . It took almost a year to make with input from different countries from lyrics to videos over the time period all great artists making a great song.utube link.

Featuring two ex-members of Cyclefly this is a very strong single, not dissimilar to Placbeo vocally and Psychedelic Furs in sound. The other song on here is an acoustic version of 'Grace' which is also worth a listen. The band's debut album is out early next year and based on these two songs will be worth a listen. ****

The band was cyclefly back in the late 90's now they're back as Mako, and i have to say sounding better then ever. This is totally different to anything out there at the moment, nothing compares with Declan O'Shea's vocals that could pierce through concrete walls. One of many great tracks off their debut album with 'Grace' as a B-side slowing things down . Post-punk, indie-rock, whatever you want to call it the music left me catching my breath back then and nothing changed in the space in between. Welcome back guys!!

Declan still has the same melodic vocals as he had when he was on vocals with Cyclefly. The song is mellow and almost has a dreamy effect but using his vocals to good effect the song climbs up and down and keeps the melody interesting, perhaps not a top twenty type of song but still good enough to pick up some new fans and probably re-kindle all the Cyclefly fans.

Every so often, a really great band just simply disappears… like, let’s say Cyclefly for example. Then if you’re very lucky, as quickly as the left, they reappear, like a phoenix from the ashes, reformed (well, kind of) as a new incarnation - Mako. Mako are good. Really good, and the new single ‘Unstoppable’ is a showcase of everything that ‘Makos’ these guys great (like what I did there?). ‘Unstoppable’ is just that, unstoppable - brimmed with shimmering guitars and addictive hooks, it is an indication of a formidable album to come and the triumphant return of one of the best bands, albeit in a slightly different format, that the UK has seen for a long time.9/10
