You know when your co-worker or roommate is playing some song on a radio that wafts its way into your ear and you immediately perk up and say "Who is that??". Well, if your co-workers and roommates know their little known Silver Lake pop bands, it's probably Sea Wolf. Sea Wolf is the brand new buzz band from the Eagle Rock side of Los Angeles fronted by Alex Brown Church. Sea Wolf, a band of changing members constantly helmed by Church, is taking over Monday nights at Spaceland in Los Angeles. A residency series that has proved to propell the lucky few who get booked into bigger and better things.
The residency also celebrates the finishing of 9 new songs. These recordings were completed during the last 6 months in Seattle with the help one of indie rock's most gifted and prevalent producers Phil Ek (The Shins, Modest Mouse, Built to Spill, etc). Other contributions from the songs came from Dustin O’Halloran from Devics, Solon Bixler of Great Northern and several other LA musicians such as Scott McPherson, Patrick Park and Tanya Haden. -Filter-mag
