St. Vincent is the nom de plum for multi-talented virtuoso Annie Clark. She was "discovered" by the Beggars' A&R operatives while opening for The National last year in London. From that point, she's criss-crossed the country with John Vanderslice, opened up for The Arcade Fire and managed to record a stunning debut album, 'Marry Me'.

Sure, we could spend even more time name-dropping her past collaborations (Sufjan Stevens, Polyphonic Spree, etc), but that would distract you from what is an absolutely stunning album. With the assuredness of PJ Harvey, the orchestral pop of Feist and the guitar chops of Joe Satriani (yeah, i went there...but it's true), 'Marry Me' flows like an artist making a statement four albums into a career, not a debut!
