Having changed styles from record to record throughout their career, southern California's Thrice continue to stretch themselves to create unique, creative music, as evidenced by their new album, The Alchemy Index: Vols I & II: Fire & Water, out October 16th via Vagrant Records. The album features two EPs- the Fire disc and the Water disc. Each disc showcases a different side of the band’s styles. Fire leans heavier and shows comparisons to the band’s old sound, while the Water disc features lush soundscapes and quiet rock.

In spring of 2008, the band will release The Alchemy Index: Vols III & IV: Earth & Air. Those EPs will also represent two different styles of music. For the time being though, take a listen to the lead track from Vol. II: Water and hear lead singer Dustin Kensrue’s broad vocals lament drowning in a digital sea…
