Wolf Cub - Vessels

Descubiertos gracias a la descarga legal de su Steal their gold. Esta banda australiana me recuerda a Kasabian. Pero los entendidos los comparan con bandas como Liars o The drones.

Sobre ellos por Amazon.com :

Wolf & Cub are four young men from Adelaide, Australia who make adrenalized, darkly psychedelic and danceable noise. Propelled by two drummers and lifted aloft by Joel Byrne's wall of guitar noise, the band quickly found themselves attracting attention in Australia. Rolling Stone tagged them as "ones to watch" early on, and in the first year of their existence Wolf & Cub toured with Queens of the Stone Age (at the request of Josh Homme himself) and TV On The Radio. Their first single, "Thousand Cuts", made it into the UK on import, finding fans at the Rough Trade Shops and attracting the attention of hot producer Paul Epworth (Bloc Party, Maximo Park) who immediately offered his services as a remixer. Shortly afterwards the band signed to 4AD, and a second single - the jagged, euphoric "Steal Their Gold" - swiftly followed. 2006 saw Wolf & Cub stealing the show at the Big Day Out festival and settling down to work on their debut album Vessels, which was released to much acclaim in Australia in September. The accompanying headlining national tour was 100% sold out; with that under their belts at home, Wolf & Cub are now turning their attention to the rest of the world. Vessels hones a wealth of ideas down into one intense blast, in part thanks to the help of Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Super Furry Animals) who stepped in to provide the final mixes. The album covers plenty of ground, from the pounding title track/opener to the hazy, rhythmic psychedelia of "Kingdom", taking in the narcotic garage energy of "This Mess" and the glam stomp of "March of Clouds" along the way. It's an album where muscular punk basslines intertwine with prog-psych guitar fuzz, while the percussion switches deftly between pounding ferocity and hypnotic detail; an album driven by the conviction of youth and built on a deep love of exhilarating, mind-bending music.
