WinterKids are a 5 piece band from a small Countryside Village called Peaslake in Surrey, Olde England. They write music for all to sing and dance to. Their fusion of catchy melodies, folky sounds and artistic stage performance has created quite a stir and the band are set to release their debut album 'Memoirs' in 2007!-Info from their MySpace-

WinterKids are a five piece Art Pop band from Peaslake, UK. Their debut single I’m Not Used To You/ Fed Up was released through Little House Records in July 2006. The double A-side debut caught the attention of Steve Lamacq, who named WinterKids his favourite new band on his 6 Music show and also featured them in his crossover KCRW slot 'Music Exchange' with Nic Harcourt. But his weren’t the only ears that were perked; WinterKids also received multiple radio plays in the UK on Radio 1 and XFM.

Following on from a successful In The City showcase where XFM Scotland DJ Jim Gellaty felt WinterKids were the best thing he saw, more Radio 1 and XFM plays of their new single, "Tape It", and a mini tour of the UK, WinterKids headed to Sawmills studios in Cornwall with Fraser Smith and John Cornfield where they recorded their debut album, Memoirs, due for digital release on March 12, 2007.

WinterKids remain fervent in their commitment to the DIY ethos, directing all their own photo shoots and using the proceeds of their monthly night Indie Go Go to fund their recording costs.

Thumping drums and shrill, alienated vocals put this Surrey outfit in the company of fellow countrymen Bloc Party, but it's the goofier postpunks Art Brut these guys most resemble. Wounded, semiserious lyrics give British rock what it can often use: a sense of humor.
