Every now and then, the intimacy of the bedroom comes up with a perfect recipe for delicious electronic pop. Fresh hand-picked rhythms and digital delights stirred by sweet guitar melodies and playful vocal harmonies offer an excellent combination that will please the most demanding ears. If we flavour it with a measure of the warm sound of the trumpet, we can be sure we've found a unique listening experience.

2003 - a fortuitous encounter in the Conservatory of Santiago de Compostela leads Raul Mon and Ivan Oubiña to meet again one sunny afternoon to explore their musical affinities. After a couple of demos, last August they finish recording on their home studio their most ambitious work so far, "Far from perfect", a scent of the refined Morr cuisine simmering on an electronic base.

Nacidos en 2003 de un encuentro fortuito en el conservatorio de Santiago y debido a sus afinidades musicales, Raul Mon e Ivan Oubiña, deciden juntarse una tarde para intentar dar salida a sus inquietudes a traves de un portátil y seis cuerdas. Tras un par de maquetas deslumbrantes, en Agosto de este mismo año, ya instalados en su estudio casero de A Coruña , terminan la grabación de su primer disco Far From Perfect, donde las bases electrónicas cobran mayor presencia dejándonos con un regusto a la alta cocina de Morr Music.

Literally from that 'Basement On a Hill' their late Texas brother Elliott Smith referred to, this quartet refuses to be kept underground. Since their formation in late 2003, Modico has turned heads and raised eyebrows all across Texas. Hailing from Fort Worth, Modico's beginnings are rooted where the roots actually grow; from the basement of a house on a hill. Modico set out to create something new and something original. Just like Dre, they've spent time "in the lab, with the pen and the pad" constantly experimenting, creating, and recreating. The end product is something that the ear begs to hear and the soul yearns to feel.

With cannon fire bass, bullet time drums, and guitars that will put you to sleep the turn around and bombard your senses, Modico takes the stage as if it were a battle field. Steadfast and ready for action, this band has an objective that exceeds superficial stardom. Modico is concerned with the world they see, and what they can do to improve it. "There's a lot of fear in the world today, a lot of depression, a lot of hopelessness, a lot of people believing that this life is pain. We are at war with that mentality. Hope does exist, and that's what we're here to say" (Thomas Ketchersid - Guitar/Vocals).

While embracing their influences, Modico seems to turn a blind eye. What they have is "something fresh and entirely their own" (Jason M, Sample Press). It's a new experience that transcends the static poppiness that floods the radio and demands you to move from the pretentious indie wasteland that plagues the internet. This is music for those who are fed up with the status quo. This is music for anyone who has ever questioned, why? This is music for a revolution.

Wow. I just said wow. We're going to s**t our pants.

Haruka's favorite artist from Scotland "The Mars Patrol" were the guest on Show #36!! If Haruka could go to LA,she could've met them in person.....That would be so surprising for her!!! OMG!!!!! But instead,she talked to them on Live hotline. (Don't be jealous people!!) Not only that,Stu Stone was gonna meet her in Boston!! I'll tell you what,he'll have some great stories about meeting with the famous Haruka From Japan, maybe next week on the program. (You will know if she really is tall or not lol)

Anyways,The Mars Patrol are very wonderful and nice people. TSM Radio really love them. I'm glad to hear Justin Trugman finally met them!!! They've got great music & awesome jokes. Stephen Parker's got the fantastic acccents. Ross Nelson definitely likes "7 Minutes in Heaven"?! Davina Divine is the finest. They are currently in California now and will be back to Scotland soon. I hope they will be on the show with Haruka and her friends sometime or you'll miss one of the amazing histories of TSMLand.
