PLAZA MAYOR, SALAMANCA- 22:30H**KITONB-CARILLION 3.O**
PLAZA MAYOR, SALAMANCA- 23:30H **ORISHAS**

In English in Music.Download.com:
Representing the dirty hipsters of BK, Santogold is like a slightly more pop version of political club-rap queen, M.I.A. Big, warbly basslines stumble drunkenly behind the lead singer's brassy, robot sass--and the end result is music you can rage out and endless drink Pabst to all night long.

What I'm searching for to tell it straight, I'm trying to build a wall Walking by myself down avenues that reek of time to kill If you see me keep going be a pass by waver Build me up, bring me down just leave me out you name dropper Stop trying to catch my eye I see you good you forced faker Just make it easy You're my enemy you fast talker
Chorus: I can say I hope it will be worth what I give up If I could stand up mean for the things that I believe
What am I here for I left my home to disappear is all I'm here for myself Not to know you I don't need no one else Fit in so good the hope is that you cannot see me later You don't know me I am an introvert an excavator I'm duckin' out for now a face in dodgy elevators Creep up and suddenly I found myself an innovator
[Chorus]
Change, change, change, I want to get up out of my skin tell you what if I can shake it I'm 'a make this something worth dreaming of
Jakob Dylan is releasing his first solo record, Seeing Things, on June 10th from Columbia Records, and on it, marks a distinct new direction for himself. Needing something different from the set sounds of The Wallflowers, Dylan stripped back the production to create a powerful, unblinking album influenced by the timeless honesty of American roots music.
Get a good preview of the album with new track, "Something Good This Way Comes" which brings out the hope and optimism from the dramatic setting of Seeing Things. Calling to mind artists like Ryan Adams and The Jayhawks, Jakob Dylan has found a new and quite pleasing avenue for his music.
Info en Filter-Mag.com: There's nothing better than having a crush. It gives you butterflies in your tummy and a looming sense of excitement. But what happens if the person you're crushing on is a good friend? or even worse, you're both already in relationships. Conundrum! New York songbird, Jaymay feels your pain because she's been there too.
"Gray or Blue" is a love letter from Jaymay to her object of affection. As she wonders if the reward out weighs the risk of jeopardizing a friendship, she can't help but stare at his mouth without "wondering what it tastes". As the cuteness drips from her voice, you find yourself rooting for her and her crush. Will they push forward, friendship and exes in their rear view mirror - or is this song all that they've got?
Hope for the best as you listen to this love gush.

Somewhere in between art rock and wistful pop lie Sydney four-piece Sparkadia, whose debut album 'Postcards' is quite possibly the most replete and accomplished debut you'll hear this year. Formed by childhood friends, 25-year-olds Alex Burnett (vocals, guitar) and Dave Hall, (drums) in 2004, the band became a reality with the addition of Nick Rabone (bass) and Tiffany Preece (keyboards, guitar, vocals). Together, they write modern pop songs, pop songs that explode and shimmer with choruses that never leave your head and hooks that floor you on the first listen. 'Postcards' offers up a dozen snapshots of life that meld bittersweet lyrics and floating melodies with a sunny spin on heartbreak, including the singles 'Too Much To Do', 'Morning Light' and 'Animals'.
I hope you enjoy these songs. If I find the list of songs that couldn't be in the compilation, I'll put you in the blog.
Thanks for dropping in the blog, and leave comments or send emails. Thanks to the readers and the musicians who leave me listen to their music. I know I have pending posts, sooner or later your music will be in this little blog ;)

Amazon.com: This duo subtly and organically fuses pop, glam, blues, art-punk, and hip-hop in a manner that flits between light and dark, funny and morbid, experimental and cute. The result is a short, sharp twelve track album of sensual, fresh, and atmospheric songs. A reminder that no one on earth makes rock 'n' roll quite like The Kills. Previous albums "No Wow" and "Keep On Your Mean Side" have sold over 70,000.
Después de "Ur so gay", nueva tema "I kissed a girl".Deseando estoy escuchar el tercero ^ô^ ¿? Su disco de debut One of the Boys se editará el 17 de Junio.
This was never the way I planned, not my intention. i got so brave, drink in hand, lost my discretion. It's not what i'm used to, just want to try you on. i'm curious, for you, caught my attention.
I kissed a girl, and I liked it. The taste of her cherry chapstick. I kissed a girl, Just to try it. I hope my boyfriend don't mind it.
It felt so wrong, It felt so right. Don't mean I'm in love tonight.
I kissed a girl, And I liked it. (I liked it)
No, I don't even know your name, It doesn't matter. Your my experimental game, Just human nature. It's not what good girls do, Not how they should behave. My head gets so confused, Hard to obey.
(I liked it)
Us girls we are so magical, Soft skin, red lips, so kissable, Hard to resist, so touchable. To good to deny it. Ain't no big deal, Its innocent.
I kissed a girl, and I liked it. The taste of her cherry chapstick. I kissed a girl, Just to try it. I hope my boyfriend don't mind it.
It felt so wrong, It felt so right. Don't mean I'm in love tonight.

Balancing introspective confession and delirious joy, the global and the personal, Flavors Of Entanglement is a tasty new musical feast from one of pop's most intriguing artists.

Amazon.com: Wanderlust is the debut solo album by Bush frontman Gavin Rossdale released by Interscope Records in June 2008. It is his first LP since Institute's Distort Yourself in 2005. The lead single "Love Remains The Same" was released digitally on April 1, 2008. The album was produced by Bob Rock and finds Rossdale collaborating with drummer Josh Freese, guitarist Chris Traynor (also formerly of Bush), bassist Paul Bushnell and keyboardist Jamie Muhoberac. Gavin was the lead singer/songwriter for the UK post-grunge rock band Bush. Their first album, Sixteen Stone (1994), was a huge commercial success. Almost overnight, Bush went from playing small pubs in London to headlining arenas in the US, the result of extensive, non-stop touring. Fast forward to 2008, married with children with Gwen Stefani of No Doubt fame.

Amazon.com Epic yet intimate, tracks like "Feelin' The Future" and the towering "Buildings & Mountains" see the Kansas City-based quintet weaving future folk, euphoric psychedelia, and exuberant symphonic pop with intricately crafted electronic textures and uncommon emotional depth. The result is a bold and beautiful collection of strikingly human music that holds an aural mirror to our ever more technologically integrated society. "It's a sound that's half organic and half synthetic, kind of like how all of our lives are now," says singer Kenn Jankowski. "It's the common theme throughout all our songs and we tried to approach it audibly as well."

Editorial Reviews
Weezer - one of the biggest and most influential bands of the last decade will for the third time in its six-album history release a self-titled album. The new album will hit streets on June 24 through DGC/Interscope Records. To distinguish it from the other eponymous albums it's being referred by people as "The Red Album." Comprised of sessions produced by Rick Rubin, Jacknife Lee and the band itself, the album is adventurous and undeniable Weezer pop-rock. The first single, the quirky and catchy "Pork and Beans," was recorded under the watch of the Irishman Lee and will soon be a Weezer classic.

VIDEOSPRINT are a Guildford based 5-piece who formed in the summer of 2005. It all began after an impromptu drunken decision that was made shortly after guitarist Jack and bassist Henry met the tall, not so dark, but amply shouldered guitarist - Owen. Jack and Owen had previously been in the same maths class together but were blissfully unaware of the magical guitar chemistry that would soon explode from their loins.
It wasn't until the next day when the hangovers had subsided that they realised they had no drummer. They recruited the renowned black love stallion Simon Facey, for his drumming abilities and chiseled jawline. Then, the vocalist was sealed in the very same fashion, when on a drunken night out, Owen came across Ross at the station and exclaimed, "Oi you tit. You're gonna sing for our band". This potent concoction would soon take the name VIDEOSPRINT, and the boys have been playing together ever since.
Since then VIDEOSPRINT have been dealt several blows, (mainly between Jack and Henry), with a band dynamic that can be described as tempestuous at best. However, after much middle manning from Shoulders these blows have only made them stronger. God speed VIDEOSPRINT......God speed!
Totalmente.

About the Artist There's no shortage of good, timeless material on Division. "Actions and Motives" is a fist-pumping rocker interwoven with atmospheric guitar tendrils, the first single "Beautiful" is brooding and evocative, suffused with ringing, distorted guitars and melancholy harmonies and "Dying Youth" starts with a poignant classical guitar progression and yearning vocals before weeping strings and a stirring chorus take the track over the peak and somewhere between euphoria and despair. Then there's "Alabama," a psychedelic-tinged song flavored with sitar, Indian percussion and acoustic guitar.
As refreshing, accomplished and united as Division sounds, there was a period when it looked like 10 Years might never finish the record. "The title of the album is self-explanatory in the sense that we had to become so divided as individuals - and as a group - to create this," Hasek explains. "Because we all have such strong personalities and opinions, we had many different directions to look at things from. But when we all came together as a unit, we were able to make our best music ever." The band felt the added pressure of growing as musicians while living up to the success of The Autumn Effect and its hit single "Wasteland."
Ultimately, 10 Years overcame their insecurities by worked together as a cohesive songwriting team, and vibing off each other instead of following anyone else's advice.
"We got so fed up we just said, `Forget everybody,' and we started only listening to each other, which we hadn't been doing at all," Vodinh says. "We didn't care about each others opinions for a long time, and suddenly we all joined hands and said, `We have to become a brotherhood again. We have to bond together.' And that's when everything finally took shape."
In June 2007, 10 Years entered a Seattle studio with producer Rick Parasher (Pearl Jam, 3 Doors Down) and started tracking Division. Parasher was far more hands-on than Josh Abraham, who had produced The Autumn Effect, and, while it took a while to adjust to the change in approach, the band members benefited from his intense interest and experience. "Rick was in there every second of every day and he had a real vision," Vodinh says. "When we first got there, it wasn't exactly the same vision we had, but we slowly found a medium where we could all be on the same page."
"It was through this album that we really found ourselves," "Hasek says. "We needed to really go through that hard time to really respect each other and the life and opportunity we'd been given. A lot of people get thrown into this kind of lifestyle and they just use it up real quick and take it for granted and then use it up and it's gone. And they're left scratching their heads going, `What happened?' I'm pretty sure now that's never going to happen to us."
Product Description Creativity isn't manufactured on an assembly line. It can't be scheduled or forced and when it's not coming there's nothing to do but wait. That's what the members of Knoxville, Tennessee quintet, 10 Years, discovered when they started writing songs for their second album, Division, the follow-up to their debut The Autumn Effect. Having spent the better part of two years on the road, the band members planned in October 2006 to take a month off and then dive back into writing mode. They aimed to re-enter the studio in early 2007 and have their second album done by that spring. But just a few weeks after they started coming up with riffs and melodies, it became clear they were going to have to throw away the calendar.
"We could have met our deadlines and gone into the studio in January," clarifies singer Jesse Hasek. "But we decided early on that we weren't going to allow ourselves to run through the motions. We felt like we really needed to challenge ourselves and do something fresh and different. And that took a little longer than we expected."
As it turned out, Division was well worth the wait. Musically eclectic, technically adept and emotionally poignant, the songs shatter preconceptions, revealing a tapestry of previously unexplored influences and a larger array of stunning melodies. Like The Autumn Effect, the new album is filled with enveloping textures and heart-stopping dynamics, but the arrangements are more developed and the songwriting more mature, revealing a cavalcade of styles including metal, hard rock, punk, alternative pop and even classical.

Like the legendary creatures rumored to be living in the abandoned subway tunnels of New York, the Baskervilles lock themselves away for months at a time writing and recording pop songs.
The Baskervilles have released one album (Baskervilles 2004 produced by Mitch Easter) and one EP (Midnight 2005) on Secret Crush Records. The Baskervilles third album, Twilight, will be released on June 3rd, 2008.
Twilight is about celebrating the people that we love and the ones that we've lost.
Twilight is about everyone being outside looking in.
Twilight is about being youthful and alive and never forgetting what it's all about.

Amazon.com Cut copy are set to return in 2008 with the shimmering timelessness of 'in ghost colours'. Haunted with machines of the past and sounds of the future, 'in ghost colours' inhabits the kind of space in time where trends are irrelevant and music is about feeling rather than following and 1969 is just as relevant as 2020. At once both jacking and jangly, electronic and organic, cut copy have crafted a record filled with glorious sounds and moods but also unabashedly pop song structures and hooks and melodies for eons. The progression from 'bright like neon love' to 'in ghost colours' is brazenly apparent from opening track 'feel the love', an acoustic guitar led stomp of a space rock tune, instantly unforgettable and with recognizable cut copy sheen. Where 'bright like neon love' was charmingly vague and hazy, 'in ghost colours' is to the point and efficient in it's songcraft, with vocals much more apparent and whitford's imprint all over every track. The record is sewn together with passages of woozy dreamscapes between the straight out jams.

In a move utterly befitting a song named “Lights & Music,” Cut Copy’s video features both lights and music. The music is a funky blend of kickin’ synthesizers and New Romantics vocals with a steady beat at the heart of the song, whereas the lights strobe in various colors, smothering the band members in rainbow shades.-Filter-mag.com
How Beach House's latest video for the beautiful standout track "Gila" off their album Devotion passed the Harding Test is beyond comprehension. Watching this video is like ingesting MDMA with its flashing strobe lights, the admixture of discoball colors, and super-imposed images overlapping singer Victoria Legrand's creepy, unblinking stare.
The cryptic video is contrasted by the hynotic ambience of the song itself taking you on a somniferous journey through a lantern-lit cavern with only a droning organ and haunting repeated ohs to get you through the night. But why would you want to awake from this narcotic slumber?-Filter-mag.com

David Sundqvist is ’The Kick’. ’Dancer’ is the debut single. But David is no wet-behind-the-ears newbie. With a list of previous bands behind him, amongst them the electro-glam rock ’Elasmo’, ’Fireline Angels’ (with Sarah Assbring now appearing as ’El Perro Del Mar’) and Kitty Jutbring in ’Kitty & The K’ he’s not been idle in recent years. And not only studio work has kept him busy, living out of a minibus on a country wide live circuit he’s seen it all from Hultsfred to Arvika.
With so much experience to bring to his latest project ’The Kick’ how did the man behind it all define the music? "The Kick comes from a need to create music entirely by my own hands. From broken beats, distorted synth and epic guitar riffs the sound just grew on it’s own".
And the new single? "’Dancer’ is broken disco beat with decadent undertones which describes the world as beautiful. And for you - as long as you make your own way just dance! You’re a Dancer!"
’Dancer’ is already making waves and with a remix by House producer Stisch we’re not entirely surprised.

When they made Wonderwall,it was because of a request by my friend Elena. It was in Germany. Unfortunately, I couldn't attend to the show. For me, it's just funny. The band that you love making a cover of another band that you loved and sometimes love nowadays. The worst for me is when people sing, it's a cover!! They are going to sing the song in a different way.Although this is not the case.
El 23 de Mayo saldrá su nuevo trabajo Picking a Lock at the Speed of Light (2008) ,después de su álbum llamado como la banda, These modern socks (2007)
“The Age of The Understatement” is a collaboration between Alex Turner – with whom you’ll be familiar – and Miles Kane, frontman of upcoming Wirral-based group The Rascals. Firm friends ever since Arctic Monkeys toured with Kane’s previous group, The Little Flames, the pair were inspired by listening to Scott Walker, early Bowie and David Axelrod amongst others – ‘it was dramatic’, Turner says’ ‘it filled the senses’ - that they hatched a plan.
The result is an album of 12 full-blooded songs, bold and brassy, full of drama, wit and melody, that source the past but avoid falling into pastiche. Both Alex Turner and Miles Kane are 22, and this is a youthful record, full of life and the sheer pleasure of music making: ‘it’s not a chore, it’s enjoyment,’ Kane says, ‘it’s great finding that with someone else, a dead good friend’.
“The Age of The Understatement” began after Kane played some guitar on Arctic Monkeys’ second album, “Favourite Worst Nightmare”. In early 2007, the pair began to trade songs: ‘a couple were already written,’ says Kane; ‘like “Standing Next To Me” and “In My Room”. The first one we did together was called “The Chamber”, and we took it in turns to do the vocals. It’s good to sing with someone else. It was just dead easy’.
‘We used a few half-hatched things,’ says Alex Turner. ‘It was three-thirds: one third of the songs we started and completed together; one third of the songs Miles started and we finished; one third of the songs I started and we finished. The fact that we were writing together seems to make it stronger. You’re not as exposed as you are if it’s just you on your own. I do like the partnership thing’.
The project quickly snowballed: ‘we wanted to do an album,’ Turner says, ‘so we knew we had to get other people involved. It was obvious that it would be James Ford; he’d worked with me on the second Arctic Monkeys record. It became obvious that we could do it with just us three. James is a drummer, we knew he’d be good. We really didn’t want to get a band together’.
It’s a big feature of the record that the two voices are intertwined, sometimes in harmony, sometimes swapping the lead. ‘You can tell that your voices are different,’ Turner says; ‘but you can’t tell when it changes. You don’t notice when one drops out and the other comes in.’
They found singing in a different style to their respective bands easy: ‘if you’ve written the songs,’ says Kane, ‘you’ve lived with them.’ ‘I enjoyed singing different,’ Turner says; ‘the harmonies were fascinating. I was having discussions with my dad about harmony. He’s a music teacher. This record has really given me a desire to sing more, to practice. I feel like I hold notes for longer now.’
Snatching days and weekends, the trio wrote twelve songs and went to Black Box studio in France to record them. ‘The time we had there was fabulous,’ says Turner; ‘I remember arriving and thinking it was perfect. Little studio with fields all around it, cut off from everything’. With James Ford playing drums, Kane and Turner swapped bass and guitar duties – whatever the songs needed.
It was decided from the start that the songs would have strings: ‘It’s a dangerous game,’ admits Turner; ‘we could have almost ruined it if it all got too lush. Laurence Bell found this guy, Owen Pallett, who came to meet us when Arctic Monkeys played in Toronto. He was a bit nervous – he’s young and hadn’t done something like this before – but that added to the record. I think the strings are terrific, they’ve really brought the songs to life.’
‘I walked into the studio when they were doing “Meeting Place”, adds Miles Kane; ‘this little song you’ve written in your bedroom is being played by an orchestra! I went cold’.
The sweeping strings underscore these songs of characters and relationships, from ‘the girl with many different strategies’ in “Only The Truth” to ‘this relentless marauder’ in “Age of the Understatement”. Basically, it’s about the female of the species, as Turner admits: ‘I didn’t realise it while it was going down but listening after we finished it I realised that it says “she” so many times. It’s all centred around this one girl who is the heartbreaker’.
The Monkeys-approved “The Age of the Understatement” – ‘they’re all into it,’ says Turner - is a voyage of discovery for all concerned, and you can hear that sense of wonder, of enthusiasm, of sheer rightness. Reinvigorating the past, it sounds just right for now: ‘usually you collaborate when you’re older,’ says Kane; ‘but we thought, let’s do it while we’re young. It’ll have a different edge. It’s a dead natural thing: that’s always the best way’.

I'm a singer/songwriter who grew up between two villages in the South Wales valleys with not much else to do but learn how to play a number of instruments and start to write my own songs. I set up my own label Self Raising Records in 2006 and put out my first 7" 'Good Coat' which had lots of nice things said about it.
Since then I've put out two other songs as limited releases - 'You Get Goodbyes' which got lots of radio play (thanks to everyone who supported) and 'Your Love Is A Tease' whose video features all my toys from childhood, some ace people have remixed my songs which you can hear at myspace.com/rodthomasmusic , and I've been spending my time going around the place playing gigs and busking on the London underground. (If you see me, please smile!)
I've been lucky enough to play with some of my favourite artists including Noah & The Whale, James Yuill, Kathryn Williams, Bass Clef, Mr Hudson & The Library and Peter & The Wolf as well as playing at Glastonbury and a nice string of festivals coming up in 2008.
I play live with a guitar, childhood instruments, a loop pedal, a synth and handclaps, and make music often descibed as folk disco to make people dance, smile, laugh and occasionally think a little bit. ((This is what I do live:))

In a time where big beats and big hooks equal big sales, and transience runs rampant throughout the medium, it is becoming ever so difficult to find records that still matter. You know, the ones that affect you. That stick with you. That serve as an underscore to the essential times in your life. While those types of records are certainly becoming an endangered species, there are thankfully those that defy this trend, and work to supply us with the instant classics we so rarely find anymore.
The New Frontiers are a band on the front lines of this battle with their debut full-length offering, Mending; they wisely let their music do the talking. Sonically, the band once known as Stellamaris offers up their take on a quieter, more introspective brand of indie rock. Anchored by singer Nathan Pettijohn's emotive vocal delivery, and complemented in kind by an equally skilled Dallas-based supporting troupe, The New Frontiers present tunes with a quiet sense of majesty that still manage to pack a colossal emotional footprint. Their pacing is deliberate, but never sedate and their sound is at once both contemporary and traditional. The overall musical stew is one that combines dashes of alt-country, brit-rock, and indie-pop (among others) towards a final mélange sure to win over sets of ears for years to come.
From the opening swells of "Black Lungs," Mending grabs a hold of its listener, but not at all in a forceful, brutish way. It is instead the type of prompting that begs for acquiescence, and the rest of the LP only cements that notion. Whether it is in the heartbreaking emotion of "The Day You Fell Apart" or the patient reflection of "Man Down," The New Frontiers pack an abundance of poignancy into their entrance onto the world's stage. It is all necessary, though, as exposure to the work's later pieces requires preparation. For as listeners delve into the unassuming anthemics of "Mirrors," the sparse acoustic/falsetto magnetism of "Passing On," the sweeping grandeur of "This Is My Home," and the ethereal moodiness of "Walking On Stones," it is readily apparent that this is not your typical radio-rock fodder. This is not to say that the tracks on Mending wrestle with issues of accessibility, instead that they maintain a profound depth beneath their lustrous surface appeal.
After sharing the stage with some of the country's hottest buzz bands, The New Frontiers now seem poised to break out on their own under the strength of their Matt Goldman-produced debut. Mending is a comprehensive journey through a range of sounds and emotions - one whose effect is not soon lost upon those it touches. Discussing the album, drummer Alex Bhore reveals that the band "wanted to make a record that was true to [themselves] and what the songs were in the first place." Frontman Pettijohn further elaborates how, staying true to the record's moniker, "a lot of the songs are about trying to fix certain things. Trying to fix yourself, trying to fix relationships with people, trying to make sense of things." With Mending, The New Frontiers exhibit nothing less than a keen sense of music's intrinsic healing power. Therapy has never felt better.
Mending contains 11 tracks of majestic, lush, and soaring alt-country indie rock, akin to Ryan Adams and Wilco. From the opening swells of "Black Lungs," Mending grabs a hold of its listener, but not at all in a forceful way. -Steve Henderson

BIOGRAPHY "You're way better than the usual white guy with an acoustic guitar!" is a compliment Tim Blane hears often. Armed with pop hooks, a soulful voice, and a songwriting style seeped in jazz, rock, and blues, Blane has a sound both refreshing and memorable. His new album, "Clockwork" is an expansion of his catchy and honest songwriting. Produced by Chris Keup and Stewart Myers (Jason Mraz, Lifehouse, Mandy Moore) the album immediately charted at #4 at Awarestore.com. Metronome Magazine said Clockwork is "filled with lush instrumentation, beautifully clever prose, and songs that make the heart remember…a masterful body of work."
The past year has been an exciting one for Tim and his band (Adam Olenn- bass, James Williams- drums.) They played dates on the Crocs college tour with oneRepublic and Fabolous, and joined Guster, KT Tunstall and others at WBOS's Earthfest. They also shared the stage with other national acts like Sister Hazel, Ari Hest and Tristan Prettyman.
They were also nominated for a Boston Music Award and they received airplay on Boston stations like WBOS and WXRV. They made it to the finals of the Starbucks/NEMO Songwriting Competition for the second year in a row, and were a featured showcase at the NACA National Conference. In addition, they were selected to perform at the NEMO and Verge conferences in Boston, and Tim was hired by super-producer Scott Storch to write ringtones for Pepsi.
Blane's debut was 2005's "In the Meantime." The album charted at #2 at the Aware Store, and has since sold more than 3000 copies independently. Insite Magazine said of the CD, "A close inspection of Blane's "In the Meantime" disc unearths a deeply talented musician and honest lyricist." Northeast Performer Magazine wrote, "In The Meantime is a strong release that is chock full of tunes bound to stay in your head long after the music ends."
Since studying at the famous Berklee College of Music, Tim has been entertaining audiences with his accessible stage presence and dry wit…From the Middlesex Anvil: "His mellow voice and songs were just altogether...melting…We LOVED Tim Blane!" screamed two sophomore girls, jumping up and down.
As one critic put it "…this is the kind of music that makes you want to roll down the windows, take down the top, and turn up the CD player!"

Video "Keep on the beam"

There may be no finer example of The Virgins strutting pop rock than their new song “Rich Girls.” And this week, you can download it for free exclusively on MySpace.
Formed near Munich as a hardcore punk band, the Notwist gradually began to embrace a fusion of classic '80s indie-pop songwriting and scruffy electronic backings indebted to Oval and Autechre. The quartet is comprised of brothers Markus and Micha Acher (on vocals/guitar and bass, respectively) plus programmer/keyboard player Martin Gretschmann and drummer Martin Messerschmidt. Their self-titled 1989 debut and 1992's Nook were rough-and-tumble punk LPs. Third album 12 marked the group's first flirtation with electronics, though the chord structures and vocals of Markus Acher marked the nowtist more as an alternative band. The band then gained an American distribution deal with Zero Hour, and after 12 was reissued, fourth album Shrink appeared in 1998. Gretschmann has also recorded on his own as Console. ~ John Bush, All Music Guide
Tema incluido en su nuevo trabajo The Devil, You + Me (Release Date-17th June,2008)
Black Kids - I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend (Official video)
I'M NOT GONNA TEACH YOUR BOYFRIEND HOW TO DANCE WITH YOU
You are the girl that I've been dreaming of ever since I was a little girl. You are the girl that I've been dreaming of ever since I was a little girl.
One! I'm biting my tongue. Two! He's kissin' on you. Three! Oh, why can't you see? One! Two! Three! Four!
The word's on the streets and it's on the news: I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you. He's got two left feet and he bites my moves. I'm not gonna teach him how to dance! dance! dance! dance! The second I do, I know we're gonna be through. I'm not gonna teach him how to dance with you. He don't suspect a thing. I wish he'd get a clue. I'm not gonna teach him how to dance! dance! dance! dance!

Ryan Tedder: Lead Vocals/Guitar/Piano Zach Filkins: Guitar/Vocals Eddie Fisher: Drums Brent Kutzle: Bass/Cello/Vocals Drew Brown: Guitar
Bio recogida en su WEB:
"The toughest thing to do is write a hit song and the easiest thing to do is act like a rock band," says OneRepublic singer-songwriter Ryan Tedder. "But we had a hit song before we had an album and we can't pull off the 'rock god' thing. We do everything backwards.
OneRepublic's hit "Apologize" was not even the song's original version, but a remix heard on Timbaland Presents: Shock Value. The original appears on Dreaming Out Loud, the band's debut album, released November 20, 2007, on Timbaland's Mosley Music Group imprint via Interscope Records. That's right, OneRepublic is a full-on rock band executive-produced and on a label headed by a super-producer best known for hip-hop (Missy Elliott, Jay-Z) and who has branched out into pop (Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado).
"It sounds insane," says Tedder, who produced a couple of songs on the album, largely produced by Greg Wells (Deftones, Mika, Pink). "But Timbaland is the single most musical guy I've ever met, no matter the genre. That's why we said, 'Let's do it.' If you do things for the right reason, good things happen."
A few years ago, Tedder had another choice - either go down the road of writing and performing "pop" tunes as a solo artist or try to strike out in his own direction making music he felt could connect on a more personal level. He chose the latter.
He had performed on a singer/songwriter show on MTV and was given a recording contract at the epicenter of all things pop during the era of boy bands and pinup princesses. "But how could I ever take myself seriously," he says, "if I was embarrassed by what I was singing? There are a lot of artists who want to make you shake your ass on the dance floor, but only a handful that connect on a deeper level. I wanted more than just a catchy tune. There's nothing like a good pop song, but there's a fine line between accessibility and credibility, and that's the line I want to walk."
Fortunately, Timbaland saw him perform on the MTV show and called to say he wanted Tedder to work with him. For a 21-year-old who quit his job at a Pottery Barn warehouse in Nashville, vowed to never take another non-music gig, and sold his car so he could buy recording equipment, being taken under Timbaland's wing was a dream come true for Tedder. He calls the next two years in studios from New York to Los Angeles to Miami "Producer 101" because it was like going to college for production.
Tedder's father had been a singer/songwriter in the 70's for acts like gospel star Sandi Patty. Tulsa-born Tedder took up piano at age three and singing when he was seven.
Studying the art of songwriting by deconstructing hits chord by chord, he became enamored with songwriters as diverse as Diane Warren and Bono. Yet he also had a desire to be center stage. "It's the typical lead singer insecurity--I wanted the spotlight but not all of the responsibility. I was finding my own voice, but I knew that for the songs I wanted to do, the vehicle had to be a band."
Thus, in 2003, after his MTV experience and subsequent tenure with Timbaland, he returned to Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he had spent his senior year in high school, and recruited classmate and guitarist Zach Filkins. The Iowa-born Filkins had spent his formative years, from 7 to 15, in Barcelona, Spain, where he intensely studied classical guitar. Back in the States for a couple of years in Illinois, he then relocated to Colorado Springs, where he met Ryan on the soccer team. Though they went their separate ways after graduation-- they kept in touch.
When they reunited, they moved to L.A., and promptly fell on hard times. "I'm not proud of it," Tedder admits, "but to buy groceries I had to write bad checks."
Given such dire straits, a couple of early band members exited and were replaced by guitarist Drew Brown and drummer Eddie Fisher. Born and raised in Boulder, Colorado, Brown saw his first concert as a 10-year-old in 1994. "My dad took me to see Weezer and Teenage Fanclub. He threw me in the mosh pit so I could get the full experience."
When his former band's drummer went to L.A. and joined OneRepublic, Brown followed. "I told my parents, 'I'm not coming home. Send more money.' I'm just not cut out for anything more responsible than being in a rock band. Only recently my dad stopped regretting taking me to that concert."
The Oregon- and California-raised Fisher had a similar inspiration. A kid who was always beating out a rhythm tapping pencils on desks, he didn't become serious about the drums until he was in 7th grade and saw a U2 concert at Tempe Stadium in Arizona. It happened to be the 1987 performance recorded for the Rattle and Hum album and film. "It moved me so much that I sacrificed everything to be in music," he says.
What followed for OneRepublic was a short-lived deal with Columbia, and upon the deal's termination, the band was contemplating whether or not to continue, when, out of nowhere, OneRepublic became one of the most popular bands on MySpace. "Maybe the music climate changed," says Tedder. "All of a sudden we were getting e-mails from kids saying that because of one of our songs they didn't commit suicide or they got through their parents' divorce. We finally connected with the audience. We said to ourselves, 'We can't quit now.'" When Timbaland launched his Mosley Music Group label with Interscope, he was quick to sign OneRepublic as his first rock act.
Meanwhile, Tedder has continued with his production work on pop and hip hop under the pseudonym "Alias." Even now, some industry insiders do not realize that Tedder and Alias are one and the same.
His credits include writing, and singing on, three tracks for Paul Oakenfold's Grammy nominated A Lively Mind, penning and producing "Do It Well" for Jennifer Lopez, "Bleeding Love" for Leona Lewis and "He Said, She Said" for Ashley Tisdale, and co-producing and co-writing "Love Like This" for Natasha Bedingfield with The Runaways. He's also worked on tracks for Baby Bash, 2Pac, Chris Cornell, Bubba Sparxxx, Blake Lewis, YouTube phenomenon Esmee Denters, and produced and wrote songs for the acclaimed 2006 indie film Step Up. "I've written and produced from the poppiest of pop to rock to heavy hip-hop to electro," Tedder says. "That's my job, but OneRepublic is the big picture."
That picture gained a new sound with the band's most recent addition. Orange County-native Brent Kutzle has played bass in hardcore and pop punk bands, but has also played the cello since the fourth grade. " I made myself a promise to never join a band where I wasn't able to play both instruments. I could never give up celloI really love playing it." Using effects such as delay, reverb and looping, Kutzle has transformed the sound of the cello for a rock band.
Clearly, OneRepublic is an unusual rock band. "One difference (from) other groups is that we're always rotating instruments," Kutzle points out. "I might play keyboards, and Ryan bass, or I play cello, Ryan piano, and Drew, bass. Sometimes we forget who plays what on a song." For OneRepublic, it's all about the song.
Says Tedder: "If I'm not getting goosebumps when I write the chorus, then others aren't going to either. I want that 'hair standing on end' feeling. They may have simple melodies but our songs are about real life. It's complexity wearing the mask of simplicity."
Songs on Dreaming Out Loud are about what you want versus what you have, why you're not where you want to be, and how to get where you want to go. That the band members have reached where they have wanted to go seems weird even to them.
"We figured we would do what we love and not make any money," says Brown. "But we've blown past wherever we thought we'd get. We are now able to perform music that is getting heard by a pretty broad audience. This is bigger than us." Tedder agrees: "This is about affecting people in a positive way. This is about trying to make a difference in people's lives and hearts the way so many bands and songs did for us."
Maybe OneRepublic doesn't do everything backwards after all. Perhaps this is one band that has it exactly right.

This town is colder now I think it's sick of us It's time to make our move I'm shakin' off the rust I've got my heart set on anywhere but here I'm staring down myself, counting up the years Steady hands just take the wheel Every glance is killing me Time to make one elast appeal for the life I lead
Stop and stare I think I'm moving, but I go nowhere Yeah, I know that everyone gets scared But I've become what I can't be Ohhh
Stop and stare You start to wonder why you're here not there And you'd give anything to get what's fair But fair ain't what you really need Oh, can you see what I see
They're tryin' to come back, all my senses push Untie the weight tags I never thought I could Steady feet don't fail me now, I'm a run till you can't walk But something pulls my focus out, and I'm standing down.
Stop and stare I think I'm moving but I go nowhere Yeah, I know that everyone get scared But I've become what I can't be Whoa!!! Stop and stare You start to wonder why you're here not there And you'd give anything to get what's fair But fair ain't what you really need Oh, you don't need
Stop and stare I think I'm moving but I go nowhere Yeah, I know that everyone get scared I've become what I can't be Oh, do you see what I see?

"It’s time – once again and more clearly than before – to show our standpoint. ’Freddie and the Trojan Horse’ is about the untruthfulness of the Swedish right-wing government and how the leading party seized power by portraying itself as supportive of the workers.” THE RADIO DEPT. April 17th, 2008.
In the beginning of 2007 people started talking about new material from The Radio Dept. There was even a rumour going on that they were working on two albums simultaneously and that both would be released in May the same year. In other words, two albums merely one year after the release of the previous album ”Pet Grief”. Those who had followed the band for a few years and knew how they work probably suspected this would not happen.
"Freddie and the Trojan Horse" is a first taste of their upcoming album ”Clinging to a scheme” due to be released on September 10. The new songs are said to be influenced by minimalistic post-punk, krautrock, repetitive "motorik" beat and ambient noise. We'll, hopefully, know if that's true on September 10.
